Rome SDS Team Update

no correct way

Well we are a good chunk into the season and the SDS team has been pushing hard for the new movie No Correct Way.  Why the entire crew has been out working towards the new project we are still celebrating the rewards of all their hard work last year. MFR is just coming off a 3-peat sweep at the TWS Riders Poll awards where she took home Female Video Part of the Year, Readers Choice Award as well as Female Rider of the Year.  This is two weeks after she won Female Rider of the year in Snowboarder Magazine. She is off to a strong start this season with some solid rail tricks in the bag as well as a top-five finish at the X-Games.

Marius Otterstad has been on a mission filming around Utah and Colorado. He just landed himself on the cover of Pleasure Mag photo issue from his first day of shooting all winter with new Rome staff photog, Dave Lehl. Max Legend has been doing laps around the globe with a second trip on the Red Bull Drive By in Europe, then back to Quebec to hammer our some rail tricks. After a solid couple weeks he found his hard work paid off and landed his first cover in the new issue of Playboard Magazine. With a quick stop in Munich for the Das Rail event at ISPO and a couple-day party break at SIA, he is back out lurking around the Midwest with  Eiki Helgason. Eiki is the newest addition to the Rome AmArmy and has been on a tear. Logging both the cover of Transition Magazine in Sweden as well as the cover of Snowboarder Mag photo annual. He can be found in just about every mag right now with a check out, cover, introduction article or random shot. He is on his first trip to the States and has jumped full on into the crew putting down tricks that have never been seen before.

LNP is being LNP, wearing funny clothes, doing tricks no one thought was possible and taking home Snowboarder mag Jibber of the Year award.  As well he landed the cover of Slash Magazine last month. Bjorn Leines is the man who never sleeps. Between playing full-time dad, owning and running a company, filming for both No Correct Way and the new Absinthe movie, sleep will have to wait. After a solid early season in MN and Utah he headed up to Jackson for the Natural Selection contest.

AmArmy riders Will Lavigne and Greg Bokenkamp have been on opposite sides of the country, but both hammering away. From handrails to Euro contests, Will has taken a couple weeks off to heal a broken nose and banged up head but will be shortly headed out west for wild adventures in Whistler with the crew. He might be the most possessed guy on the team right now and has hammered out more shots than anyone.  Greg has been doing laps between Mammoth and SLC getting his days in with the crew and taking park laps back home in Mammoth. Yan Dofin has traveled from MN, to Chi-town to Quebec and back locking down hammers. Currently on a crew with Max and Eiki you can expect strong things from him the rest of winter.

Jesse Fox and Casey Neefus have been holding down the Northwest with filmer Garry Pendergrass. Between heavy snow and pow days at Mt. Baker to bluebird Whistler days they are enjoying the heavy snowfalls this winter. They both took a quick break to cut loose in Vegas with the rest of the Rome SDS.

In other team news Jonaven Moore has spent his winter riding the new resort in Revelstoke. Word is, the place is a ghost town and there are lines for days all direct from the lift. Silvia Mittermuller started off the year strong with a 3rd place finish at the European Open but had some tough luck at X-games and blew out her knee. She is already back on the road to recovery and hopes to back at it by late spring.
