Portland Mischief
Crunch-oo-eezies
After a night at The Ark, we wake up at a cool 4:00am to drop off Agatha at the Portland Airport and drive down the hill from Hood. After exchanging goodbye’s, a tired Alex tries to thread the needle in the unloading zone at the airport between a couple cabs, and a clean Mercedes Benz, in the 30ft RV. Crunch! He swipes the rear bumper of the Benz and doesn’t stop ’til almost the end of the RV. Half the passenger side has a big gash, and the door is inoperable.
Assessing the Situation
The Benz owner wasn’t too thrilled, even though 80% of the damage was done to the poor RV. The Benz needed a new tail light and a touch up on the bumper. The Benz owner was some kind of driver, no not the Jason Statham (Transporter, Crank) kind of driver, but some kind of chauffeur. He was trying to tell Alex that he was comprimising the integrity of his son’s college fund, dang, I wouldn’t blame him, the tail light on his Benz will probably cost him $500 to replace, ha!
After that wonderful wake up call, we stop by the nearby Embassy Suites hotel to plug in and use the ‘facilities’. Upon entering the lobby, we see a full fledged kitchen full of chef’s making omelettes filled with whatever you desire. We grab plates and endulge. Scrambled eggs with two kinds of cheese, bacon, sausage, even pancakes! With roaming eyes from hotel employee’s, we act like we own the place and dig in. We’re able to fandangle some electricity and internet across the street at the Sheraton with no problems, now I can actually get some work done as my cell phone, and laptop were dead. I posted up at the back of the hotel near a few conference rooms. Business men taking breaks from their exciting sales presentations gave me looks like, what the hell is this kid doing on the floor? I got even stranger looks when they walked into the bathroom with a suit and tie, as I was brushing my teeth in torn ass jeans, a bandana, and some ripped laces, probably wondering why I wasn’t doing that in my “room”.

Beer, Pizza.. and lots of sausage!
We had to stop by burnside skatepark to check it out. Skating faster, harder and more powerful than any other local group I’ve ever seen, I was blown away at the talent in that park, it was definitely sick. It got crowded real quick as the temperature’s started to drop.
We pick up Eesa Owner, Steve Cleary from the airport and also meet up with Dan, a local K2 rep and stop by a couple local shops. Dan and his wife were cool enough to let us park the RV outside their house in Portland. Within walking distance of Dan’s house was the Clinton Street Pub, we stop in for some alcohol consumption and a few games of pinball. Apparently every sunday night at Clinton’s, there’s a pinball tournament.. We were also informed that every sunday night in Portland, there’s a place where they do ’stripper-oke’, I guess you pick your favorite tune to sing along to, and some scantily clad women have their way. I’ll leave the rest for your imagination. We walk home after a few rounds, and konk out.
Dan’s awesome art around the house
