Truckee, CA (March 2, 2007) – The Vans Cup at Tahoe got off to a killer
start Friday night under the lights at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort with jib
masters Lucas Magoon and Erin Comstock nabbing the guy's and women’s titles
in a Rail Jam comp before an enthusiastic crowd ready to start the
weekend’s snowboard action at the West Coast’s biggest snowboard contest.
Incline Village local Comstock took home $2,600 with smooth frontside
boardslides on the down rail and powerful 50-50’s through the kinked rail,
while Magoon, who has been torrid on the rail contest circuit this winter,
grabbed $12,000 with the most technical combos on the rails against a
larger men’s field.
