So ASR was bigger than ever this year. Kinda cool, kinda sad, it's just nice to see boardsports coming up like this. I remember a few years ago walking out of ASR with a grip of schwag, clothes, goggles, shades, whatever. Gone are those days, but now it goes beyond hawking product. It's like the place to be seen or some shit. Chino from the Deftones, Tito Ortiz, Carey Hart, Brian Deegan, The Federation(i wear my stunna glasses at night) Mickey Avalon, WuTang Clan, DJ Ztrip, it's madness. DOpe to see the attention meeter blowing up.
Another impressive thing I saw there were the fellas from ReelComp.com. If you haven't checked them out yet, I reccomend the shit out of them. THey have this dope little web-broadcast booth, and stream live video over the web(yeah Tackitt) Anyways, hope they take off, rad concept($$$) though.
The parties at ASR. Forget about it. Reef Girl Fashion Shows, sketchy ass trips to Tijuana with the Rome SDS crew, and more free booze than a greek wedding, it goes on and on.
Most of all, ASR historically is the beginning of my snow season, so I get a little sentimental. From this upcoming weekends I Heart Box tour stop in Sacramento, to movie premiers, Icer Air, the Jibassic Pro, the season is right around the corner! Get out your gear. Stare at it. It feels good. It stokes your day, and it reminds you tomorrow is one day closer...
