I already broke my new board! - 2006/12/19 17:34 I just broke my brand new Rome Machine on sunday. DAMMIT. The good snow isn't even here yet, and my new stick is dunzo. The worst part about it is, it's completely my fault. Those Rome boards are built to take a beating, but not shredding the gnar powder with barely covered rocks.......I'm going back to my snowblades.

Re:I already broke my new board! - 2006/12/19 21:18 DAMN DUDE THAT SUCKS, SORRY TO HEAR THAT. THOSE ROME BOARDS CAN BE PRETTY PRICEY TOO. I THOUGH THAT THE MACHINE WAS A STRAIGHT JIB STICK, WHAT WERE YOU DOING IN THE BARELY COVERED POW?

Re:I already broke my new board! - 2006/12/19 22:27 third day on some dynastar big troubles, first day on them this season. Tree to rock with pictures to prove and a core shot to add the exclamation point. Had them fixed within 2 days and this weekend i donated more ptex to the mountain gods.

It sucks to treat stuff that is nice that hard but when you link 3 good turns and a nice drop into the white fluff being on good equipment is worth the punishment it takes.

And besides I always want next years stuff anyway, better to have a reason to break the bank.

That, and they were blowing snow in the park all day, and they opened the Wall at Kirkwood, and I never say no to some fresh, no matter what's underneath. It happened when I popped on a knoll and based out in the crud , and I guess that's how it happened.

It could have been from me falling all over the place on some rails at Heavenly too, their park has owned me this year......

Re:I already broke my new board! - 2006/12/21 22:50 That sucks man. I say gear is meant to be beaten. New stuff is always fun to get anyways. Snowhustler and I are on the same page

Re:I already broke my new board! - 2006/12/22 16:00 i would have to agree, this year i am blessed to have two boards.

my old one and a new one!!!

my old Salomon Transfer... i don't know why, but i absolutly love it. it's just a good lazy riding stick. it's not great at high speeds, but it carves pretty nice through pow and on groomers. i got an old pair of customs on there, but they work, so i don't care. i think i'm gonna take it on some rails, it's pretty soft (a little softer then medium.. maybe a 4) and it's old so i don't really care if it gets busted up.

my new one is a GNU Carbon High Beam. it's a bit stiffer then my Salomon, but it should be a great all around board. i got this board paired up with a new set of EX's. never had an aluminum base before so it should be interesting.

i've been looking on e-bay and different sites for cheap boards. i'm looking for something for my buddy and myself. but i constintly find myself drifting towards technine and capita. they just seem top notch and at a great price. a lot of bang for the buck.

Re:I already broke my new board! - 2007/02/26 00:39 On that note, stay as far away as possible from the 06 M3 Convoy Wide. Two days and ONE backside 360 later, the board splits right down the middle and your stuck riding down the mountain with your back binding attached to some splintered balsa wood core.

I thought it might have just been bad luck...so I returned the board and was sent a new one. Three days, two new stickers and one new stomp pad later, and the SAME EXACT thing happens again. It would be nice if I could return this one, but apparently M3 went out of business at the end of the season and wont honor the warranty under the new M4 name...
